Salvete amicis! Welcome to my blog, which is to be primarily centered around different languages, and at the moment the language I am learning, Latin. So, to help me learn it, I will post stories in Latin centering around these characters: Tiresias, Athena, Pyrrha, Aquila and her family: Diana, Luciana, Augustu, and Isaac. There will also be some Latin stories involving the Roman gods (deorum) and goddesses (deae!) here and there. Since my creative arts blog, Adventure Awaits, is written entirely in English I felt it would be a little weird to post a story entirely in Latin out of the blue, when not everyone on that blog speaks it or knows it, so...that is why I created Tales in Different Tongues.
Another thing I intend to post (along with the stories) are songs I find in different languages that I am learning (or even write one in a different language and perform it), and cover a few of them so I can practice speaking in that language.
I found that this song that Erutan performed was very useful when creating flashcards for Latin words, because the song had the translation at the bottom and the Latin at the top:
Secret Library Daguerreo by Erutan
You can also listen to it here
Weirdly when I first listened to it, I didn't realize it was Latin until I looked at the description, and later ended up using the Latin words in the song for flashcards.Valete,
Quinley
